Working alongside Tanco Autowrap we assisted in the UI design of their machines OPUS monitor. This monitor is used as the main user interface for their new mower machine. With user experience being Tanco’s number one priority it was imperative that we created an intuitive navigation across all primary and secondary actions. Making the product ‘easy’ to use was our combined goal.
A strong, clean and modern design with a smooth user flow
“AKG helped provide us with a contemporary graphical user interface to accompany our machines. Customers have praised the clean and elegant look to the design and how easy it is to interpret information from the display. The attention to detail and passion for design that the team at AKG brought to the project was invaluable.”
Shane Aughney | Tanco Autowrap
A full iconography set was also created and considered throughout this project. The icons were used in the UI but also within the handbook that comes with the machine. Ensuring the iconography was strong and consistent with the rest of design was important, however, creating a universal language that could be interpreted by anybody was essential.
With the OPUS monitor being positioned in the cab of the tractor buttons and interactions needed to be at an optimum size for the user to easily control. By understanding the users goals, behaviours and context prior to starting the project we were able to achieve this in our design.
